VFW Breakfast Help

The Cresco VFW hosts a breakfast the third Sunday of each month from September thru April at the VFW (by Subway).  The breakfast runs from 8am  to 12:30pm.  Dates for breakfasts are Dec. 20, Jan. 17, Feb. 21, March 20, and April 17th.  Volunteers are always needed and made just show at the times that work for them.

Helping Services Volunteer Opportunity

Helping Services for Northeast Iowa is hosting a Nurtured Heart parenting class in Cresco on February 16th, 23rd, and March 1st. The volunteers would be expected to help us run the day care service that we provide the parents during the classes.  We are estimating that we will need anywhere from 2-5 volunteers for this event, dependent on the number of people we get to enroll in the class. Babysitting Help

The Crestwood PTO has a meeting on Tuesday December 15 at 6:30 in the discovery center at Crestwood Elem/JH. They are seeking volunteers to provide day care so parents can attend the meeting. Contact Kelly Jessen at kellyolsonjessen@gmail.com if interested in helping.

Wedding Help

Mrs. Vachta is seeking two volunteers to help at her son's wedding.

Here are the details:
The wedding is December 12. It starts at 4pm at the Expo. I would like to have 2 students to make popcorn using a popcorn machine, refill the candy and snack containers, and refill the lemonade containers. They would need to be at the Expo by 4:30pm.  I will have someone there to tell them what to do. They would stay and work until 6pm or 6:30pm. They would be able to eat supper there, too.

Mobile Food Pantry

The Mobile Food Pantry will be in Cresco on Saturday November 7th.  The pantry is located at First Lutheran Church, 920 East 3rd Street in Cresco.  Volunteers are needed to help unload the truck, distribute the food, and clean up.  If you want to volunteer, please be at the church by 8:30am. The food pantry is over by 12.  Questions??  Contact Betty Schmitt at school email.  

PTO Day Care

Chip Shoppe Fundraiser Help

The Crestwood Elementary staff members are looking for some responsible students to assist them with the parent pick up of fundraiser products from their Chip Shoppe sales.  The orders and items sold will be delivered to school on Nov. 5th from 3 to 5pm. Humane Society Dog and Car Wash

The Humane Society of Northeast Iowa is seeking volunteers to help with its annual dog and car wash on Saturday Oct 3rd from 1-4 in the Cresco Shopper Parking Lot.  Either show up during those times or contact Deb Morris at 563.379.6240 if interested.

All-Sports Booster Club Concession Help

The All-Sports Booster Club needs volunteers to help at concession during home volleyball games.  If students are interested in volunteering, the sign-up sheet is on the counter in the high school office.

Concession Stand Help

The Lime Springs Pool needs one or two students each nightf rom July 7 (tues) thru July 17th. (no Mondays either week) from 5-7 pm to sell concessions. Registration Assistance

Howard Winneshiek Schools is seeking help for On-Campus Registration.  Students will assist parents in setting up PowerSchool accounts and registering their students.

Students need to be available for all three times

Moo Mobile Help

The Kiwanis group is in charge of the Moo Mobile from start to finish on Saturday, June 27th at the Howard County Fair.

Art Show Help

Joanie Buttjer is looking for students to help with the Art Fair by setting up the tents and taking down the tents. Mobile Food Pantry Help

This Saturday May 2nd the Mobile Food Pantry will be held at First Lutheran Church at 920 East 3rd Street in Cresco.  Please be there by 8:30am.  Duties include unloading the truck, setting up the distribution area, distributing the food, and cleaning up.  We are usually done by 11:30.   For more information email Betty Schmitt at school email.

Wisdom & Wellness

Cheryl Dickman is  looking for some silvercord volunteers for this summer's Wisdom and Wellness Program.  The times would would be Monday-Friday 8AM until 1pm...June 1-June 26 Volunteers would help with the Wisdom & Wellness program and also help with kids during the breakfast eating time and also lunch times.

Swimming Help

Crestwood Elementary teachers are looking for help with their fitness center swimming afternoon. They are looking for volunteers that are willing to get in the water and go swimming with K, 1, and 2 grade students.  We are swimming on May 14th and May 15th.  There are 2 session times on both of these days:12:30 to 1:15 and 1:40 to 2:25.  If you are able to help with one or both of the sessions and days please let Mrs. Berg know at jberg@howard-winn.k12.ia.us

Helping Services Volunteers

    Helping Services for Northeast Iowa is offering a parenting class, Nurtured Heart Approach, which meets every Tuesday starting April 7^th and ending May 12th.  We are currently looking for volunteers for this event. The volunteers would be responsible for watching children while the parents are taking a parenting class. They will spend two fun hours with the children doing activities such as coloring, playing with blocks, reading books, playing games, and more. We ask that the volunteers arrive at 5:15 so they can help set up a simple dinner of sandwiches, veggies, etc. for the families. We would really like to have as many volunteers as possible; the more the merrier! Every evening they can volunteer helps!

Home Business & Craft Expo

On Saturday May 2, 2015, there is a Home Business and Craft Expo.  The organizers of this event are looking for the following:

• Students willing to perform (sing, dance, play an instrument) or willing to give a demonstration (on how to do something/teach something--crafts, gardening, photography, anything). There are half hour blocks for talents to be showcased.
• Students willing to help set up on Friday May 1st at 3:30 to 4:30
• Students willing to tear down on Saturday May 2nd from 3 to 5 pm
• Students willing to distribute carnations on Saturday May 2nd from 8:30 to 10am.
