Junior High Dance Help

Mr. Wiley is looking for 6 junior or seniors to help supervise the junior high dance on Friday November 18th from 7pm-9:30. Students may report after Meet the Team if necessary.  Please contact Mr. Wiley at his school email or at lunch if interested.

Notre Dame Mailing Assistance

Basketball Scoreboard Help

Volunteers are needed to run the clock and scoreboard at 7th and 8th grade junior high girls basketball games.  On game days you would need to report to the  junior high gym at 4:00 and games are generally over by 6:00.

Halloween Dance Volunteers

1.  Special Needs Association of Howard County is sponsoring a Halloween Dance/party for individuals with special needs onSunday, Oct. 30th from 12:00 to 4:00 at the Featherlite Center at the fairgrounds.  Help is needed to set up for the dance, help with crafts and games, serve lunch, and clean up.  Contact Betty Schmitt on school email to volunteer.

Helping Services Child Care Help

Helping Services for Northeast Iowa is hosting a parenting class in Lime Springs on 10-17,  10-20, and 10-24. We are looking for 2-3 students to help us with childcare during the class. Lidtke Mill Soup Supper

Lidtke Mill is having its annual soup supper and ghost tour fundraiser Saturday, October 15th from 4-8pm. ISilver Cord volunteers are needed to help to clean tables, guide people at the Mill (just take them to each spot) or etc. Contact Phyl Stevenson at 566-2864 if interested.

 Notre Dame could use help for the Harvest Omelet Breakfast on Sunday, October 23. Help is needed for the following shifts:

Setup:  7-8

Serving:  8-10 or 10-12

Cleanup:  12-1

Volunteers are needed for experienced omelet makers

Babysitting during Conferences

Chain Gang

Four volunteers are needed to be the chain gang at the four home 9th grade football games.  Contact Mrs. Lansing in the HS office if interested.

Volleyball Scoreboard

Volunteers are needed to help Tues. Sept. 6th and Thurs. Sept. 8th with the scoreboard at the home junior high volleyball games.  Volunteers should be there by 4pm.  If interested, contact Mr. Carver.

Mobile Food Pantry

Silver cord help is needed on Saturday Sept. 3rd for the mobile food pantry.  Helpers need to be at First Lutheran Church, 920 East 3rd Street, at 8:30am.  The pantry ends about 11:30.  Help is needed to unloaded the truck, distribute food items, and clean up.  Donuts provided!!

Open House Assistance

Silver Cord volunteers are needed August 23rd at the Crestwood Elementary/Junior High Building from 9am to 6pm to assist parents with online registrations, finding classrooms, and answering questions.  Volunteers may work all or part of the time.  Contact Michelle Bakken at mbakken@howard-winn.k12.ia.us if interested.

Duties will include greeting parents and helping them log into PowerSchool and navigate through eRegistration.

Helping Services of Northeast Iowa is looking for a few more volunteers to help serve the children of those who are attending Saturday's (July 16) Nurtured Heart Approach training in Riceville. (www.helpingservices.org/events/nurtured-heart-approach-riceville/) 

Two volunteer shifts are available: 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1 p.m.–4 p.m.

Art Show Help

The Art Council needs students  interested in helping set up tents at  6:00am and take down at 3:30pm on July 24th for the Art Show.   They need  a couple more students to help with the children art project which is supervising the little ones with painting on blocks of wood etc.  Contact Joanie Buttjer at 563-547-2223 if interested.

The Wisdom and Wellness Program is in need of Silver Cord volunteers.

Hours will be June 6th-June 30th, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-1:00 PM

Volunteers are needed to oversee younger students and mentoring them in physical fitness and good nutrition habits.

Art Show Help

Volunteers are needed to help set-up and take down the art show on July 24, 2016. Mentoring Opportunity

Hello, my name is Colinne. I am the IDPH Youth Mentoring AmeriCorps Member serving at Helping Services for NE Iowa. Our mentoring program is in great need of mentors. We require the mentor to be 17 or older and give a 1 year commitment, with a time commitment of 4-5 hours a month whenever and however they want to do those hours.
