Spring Ahead Learning Center Help

Spring Ahead Learning Center is Lime Springs is looking for volunteers to help with its Summer Camp for children ages 4-11.  The camp is schedule from June 16-20 from 8:30am to 11:30am.  Please contact Sandy Sullivan at 563.566.8058 if interested.

Kiwanis Help during Fair

The Kiwaniis Club is seeking volunteers for Saturday, June 28th, at the Howard Co. Fair for shifts making malts for the Moomobile. Kiwaniis needs to cover the shifts for the entire day, and we would need reliable, committed individuals to help fill our shifts.  The shift times are as follows:

9:30 am-12:00 noon

12:00 noon-2:30 pm

2:30-5:00 pm

5:00-7:30 pm

7:00-9:30 pm

The afternoon/evening shifts are the ones with the most need.  We meet and make malts under the grandstand using the south entrance.

Lawn Mowing

Mary Gunhus is looking for a volunteer to mow her lawn for the next few weeks while she recovers from an injury.  Lawn mowing equipment is provided and she lives in Cresco.  Please contact her at 547.3438.

Cresco Public Library Summer Program Help

The Cresco Public Library is looking for volunteers to assist with the Children's Summer Reading Program. The dates would beTuesday June 17 at 9am, Tuesday June 24 at 9am,  Tuesday, July 1 at 9 a.m. and Tuesday July 8 at 9am.  The staff needs help with checking books out for kids, helping the kids get numbers for the 10am programs and getting prizes to kids. We have an entertainer perform on all those dates and approximately 100 + children attending. The silver chord volunteers would be utilized from 9 am to 11am.

Art Show Help

The Cresco Art Council needs Silver Cord students for the Art Show Aug. 3rd. They need 4-5 boys to help to set up the tents at 6:00 AM and to help take them down at 3:30.  Also students are needed to help with the art projects for the children and any students who like to perform some music during the day.  Students should call Joanie Buttjer  at 547-2223 or Sue Easler at  563-379-9293 by July 21, if possible.  

Wisdom & Wellness Silver Cord Opportunity

Cheryl Dickman with the Crestwood Wisdom & Wellness Program is looking for Silver cord members for the summer wisdom and wellness program.  The dates are June 9 thru July 27.    The times are 8am to 1pm. The hours can vary if need be, and students don't have to be there every day if they have other things going on.   Although, consistency in volunteering is appreciated.  Cheryl is looking for approx. 6-8 students.  If students worked last year and would like to do it again, they need to contact Cheryl also.

Mother's Day Brunch Help
